Poco has hinted that they will release Poco F5 in India soon with a powerful Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chipset. Poco F5 is going to succeed the Poco F4 which was launched in June 2022 in India. However, it is expected to make a debut as a rebranded version of Redmi Note 12 Turbo which was also available in a special Harry Potter Edition during its launch in China. Today, Poco has revealed the launch date of Poco F5 in India & it is going to happen on May 9, 2023.
Snapdragon (@Snapdragon_IN) through a Twitter account confirmed that its Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 SoC will make its India debut through the upcoming Poco F5 & later this quote was quoted by Poco's India Head Himanshu Tandon (@Himanshu_POCO), who claimed that the Poco F5 will be the “most powerful” Poco smartphone ever.
According to the Snapdragon makers, the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 is designed using 4nm TSMC technology, and it reportedly increases the phone's overall performance by 50% in comparison to the previous Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC. In addition, the upgraded chipset also improves battery efficiency by 13%, doubles AI performance, and features Wi-Fi 6 support.
The Poco F5 smartphone is anticipated to be available in two storage variants, namely 8GB+256GB and 12GB+256GB. If the speculations are true & Poco F5 will be a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 12 Turbo, then it may share similar features like a 6.67-inch full-HD+ (2,400 x1,080) AMOLED display, with a refresh rate of 120Hz, a touch sampling rate of 240Hz, and a peak brightness of 1000 nits.
The smartphone could also feature a triple-camera unit, consisting of a 64-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2-megapixel macro lens. For selfies, it could have a 16-megapixel front camera, located within a centered hole-punch cutout on the display.
Other expected features of the Poco F5 include a 5,000mAh battery, supporting 67W fast charging, and an in-display fingerprint sensor for security.
Equipped with the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 SoC, the Poco F5 could be paired with an Adreno GPU, up to 16GB LPDDR5 RAM, and UFS 3.1 storage. It is expected to run MIUI 14, based on Android 13.
